A Word: This is an important and powerful month for me as an artist. My solo exhibition, Conflict: Self and the World, moves to The People’s Place for two weeks. This is a special part of the exhibition’s journey because I will paint live and do an artist talk. I am excited (and anxious) to speak on the work in full and describe what it means to me to have put together a story that I was not initially sure of telling. Conflict: Self and the World is personal and carries a bit of controversial weight as I confront my own experiences and the choices of others.
Opening Ceremony – May 18. 4pm-8pm
Live Painting – May 23. 2pm-5pm
Artist Talk – May 30. 12pm-1:15
Private art tours available Tuesdays and Thursdays from May 18-30.

Works in Progress:
Over the last two weeks I returned to my roots of palette knife work. I have truly missed it. Nothing freer. So why do I often do work with shapes? It’s a way for me to allow my curiosity to express myself in a different way. I like to see where my mind goes when it comes to structure in the work. I notice that I like overlapping and not creating chaos within the entire piece. Also, I am able to add another perspective to the story. A perspective that is still mine. You get a lot of parts of me in this new body of work.

As you know, I was invited to The 203 Art Space in Stamford, CT for their exhibition Earth Now. It was a beautiful experience, and the gallery was wonderfully massive. The show was filled with exquisite, unique, colorful, dark, and vulnerable works of art. I have two pieces in the exhibit — Pandemonium and Virtualis Infernum, which are both included in my solo show. It is a joy to be part of the exhibition which continues until March 16.

Thank you!
